World overview

About this universe

In the kingdom of Solmira, eclipses are considered divine warnings — moments when the gods pull back the sky to judge the living. But Kairo, the youngest son of a disgraced noble house, was born during the longest recorded eclipse in history. At seventeen, he discovers he can absorb the power of eclipses, storing celestial energy in the marks that spread across his skin.

The more he uses this power, the more he becomes something that no longer fits the word 'human.' Eclipse Crown is a dark action supernatural story about inheritance, sacrifice, and what it means to carry power you never asked for.

Universe

Characters

Protagonist / The Eclipse Bearer

Kairo Solmira

The youngest son of a disgraced noble house, born during the longest recorded eclipse in history. At seventeen he discovers he can absorb and store celestial energy — a power that rewrites his body every time he uses it.

StubbornSelf-isolatingFiercely protectiveReckless under pressure

I didn't choose the eclipse. But I'll choose what I do with it.

The Living Archive

Thessaly of the Outer Vault

Appears to be in her thirties. Is approximately four hundred years old. Keeper of the forbidden solar texts and the only person who has observed more than one eclipse bearer. Patient, cryptic, and more complicit in the current crisis than she initially admits.

PatientCrypticMorally complicatedExhausted by history

The last eclipse bearer burned everything he touched. You seem to be doing better. So far.

Crown Prince / The Hunter

Vaine Solmira

Kairo's older brother and the legitimate heir to Solmira's throne. Has spent his entire adult life hunting eclipse bearers because he genuinely believes it is the right thing to do. More dangerous than a villain who knows he's wrong.

CalculatingGenuinely believes he is rightCharismatic to opponentsHollow underneath certainty

There are things born to be put down. That's not cruelty. That's clarity.

The Constant

Mira Dusk

Kairo's childhood friend and the only person his eclipse power cannot touch. Her immunity is not coincidental. She knows more about what he is than she's told him, and she has already decided how far she'll follow him.

GroundedQuietly furiousBetter strategist than she admitsAfraid of what she already knows

Don't make me watch you become something I can't follow.

The Bound Soldier

The Undying Marshal

An ancient military commander bound by an oath that transfers automatically to whoever controls the sun's power. Cannot lie. Cannot refuse a lawful order. Has served seventeen eclipse bearers. Only twelve of them are dead.

Exhausted by historyFollows orders visibly reluctantlyCannot deceiveDoes not want to be freed

I have served seventeen eclipse bearers. Twelve of them asked me to help them die.

The character design feels like it could carry a full season. Kairo's marks and the way they spread — that detail alone creates so much tension.

I would definitely read chapter two. The moment Thessaly appears at the gate is the best pacing beat I've seen in a pilot chapter this season.

The Undying Marshal's line about serving seventeen eclipse bearers is the moment this went from interesting to something I need to follow. That's a lot of backstory compressed into one piece of dialogue.
